Hi,

I am currently looking to change the environment of my 20'' lung as it is quite bare and in need of a revamp.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what kind of substrate, plants etc work best with these guys?

There's also a 7-8'' Oscar, a 5-6'' Gold Severum and a 9'' Plec in with him right now.

Thanks :)

Those fish are on borrowed time the pleco maybe safe i have a pleco with my 20" wal ok, i have mine with loads of plants, tubes and bogwood.

I'm going to have to agree with BWB on all accounts here. :D

I use a pretty dense sand substrate so its easier to remove the waste off the surface. I have a bunch of plants and driftwood/pvc caves and he seems pretty happy.

The fish have been with him for a long long time,

I know the risks involved with keeping WAL's with anything but the two times he has fought the oscar he has come off just as bad. I may live to regret it but its been almost two years now with the oscar being the more aggressive of the two so hopefully all will be well *touch wood*

and thanks for the tips guys, sand, bogwood, plants and caves was what i had planned but I wasnt sure if there was a better mix.

thanks again

yea.
black sand would look best.
