Walking Cafish Growth rate

As you all may know, I own a walking catfish. He lives in a 85 gallon aquarium and is living a good life. When I got him, he was only about 2 inches long. He grew very fast to the size he is now which is 9 inches. But for over a month now, he has stopped growing. Is their a reason for this? I feed him 2 types of Hikary pellets, about 2-3 times a day. he always comes up and eats.

I want him to be big, thats why I bought him. Is their anything I can do to make him start growing again?

I do water changes about every week. When I syphon the rock, the water turns dark green/brown. I normaly take out 25% of the water, sometimes more.

Should I do water changes twice weekly?

the more wc's the quicker the growth, the trick is to balance it between, not stressing the fish, keeping water as good as possible and underlining cost of all those wc's... but yes to a certain extent the more wc's the faster the growth can be... ad this is generally applicable to most fish too...

Ok, from now on I will remove 5 buckets of water a week rather then the 4 buckets that I normaly did.

i have 3 clarias and they are the same way once they hit that size there growth slows, just natural
