Ive got a green about 10'' and a walking catfish about 12'' and ive constantly been having to remove the walking cat from my main tank due to him munching on the aros tail.Ive got them in a 8x2x2 with 4 x 6'' pbass,22'' ID shark,20'' GGourami,FRT,Freshwater crab and a couple of cichlids.Do you think it can work? Maybe a few dither fish to distract the walker? I never thought it would be a problem cause the walker is a bottom dweller and the aro a top swimming fish.Any experience with this would be grateful.:)

Separate them. The Clarias is clearly agressive and chose to pick on the aro..it will continue to so,

You are way overloaded as it is.....

Ive taken the clarias out 2-3 times with 3week breaks hoping it will forget bout the aro but it doesnt seem to.As for overloaded,i have to disagree. If the ID shark and Giant Gourami were not in there the tank would look extremely bare.

ID shark and osphronemus are WHAT overloads it, in my opinion, but anyway.

Taking the clarias out won't do anything because when you reintroduce it, it will start attacking the sclerepages at night again, along with other fish, possibly.

I had a clarias that would just dominate asian red tailed cats, among other more aggressive cats, left and right. He had to live on his own because he would just skin whatever was in with him. He skinned two ARTCs, a clown knife 4x his size, and a megalodoras irwini 3x his size. In one night. I'd just lose the clarias imo.

Im hoping to get rid of the clarias ASAP.Over here in Aus, Green Aros are very expensive and I definately dont want to get him skinned.

hi mate,
clarias cats are notorious for the behavior u mentioned, cool cats though, if they werent so pushy and illegal in vic id take him off ur hands but i wouldnt risk it, get rid of him, btw your tanks not overloaded.

Yeah, thanks mate.I dont think its overloaded at all.Ive seen many tanks smaller than mine with 10 times the amount of fish in them, and not everyone can afford or have the room for a 10x4x3 size tank!

Hmmm, i suppose i better keep an eye on my walker then ... it is still puny but who knows. I could not catch him when i was removing marble pims
