Wallabies

Need to check the DFG in the state you intend on keeping a wallaby. Examples: N. Carolina does not regulate exotic pets and California expressly forbids possession of ANY marsupial species, including native opossums.

North Carolina allows any exotic pet?

NC - The state doesn't have regulations in place. However, counties and cities may have their own regulations and permit procedures. Usually, this means regulating animals which may be kept within city limits or in rural areas. Wallabies are usually classified as livestock and many urban areas do not allow livestock to be maintained within city limits.

Wallabies defiantly are not aloud in pa. I already looked into it and went directly to the top of the food chain. I talked directly to the head of the game commission and he said they are illegal. Big cats and bears can be obtained with two years of documented experience with the specific animal you are trying to get a permit for, and you need every single person within I think 10 or 20 miles from your location to sign a paper saying they don't mind you owning said animal. You can get any exotic bird without a permit, but you need a falconry listens to even have a chance of getting one, as many breeders will not sell to someone without one. Pa I terrible for exotics trust me I have tried to get permits for almost everything coatimundi's, wallabies, exotic birds, kinkajous, various species of fox, ect.

IMO California is the worst... Texas isn't any better when it comes to fish (I live in TX)

I agree with what Oddball said; it usually comes down to state & local regulations.

PA is great for reptiles, amphibians, and fishes, though; the PA Fish & Boat Commission fortunately is pretty hands-off about most of that stuff. In short, don't get something fuzzy rather get something scaly. :D
