wallago attu/hunter cat

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have kept Wallago attu before in the past... very interesting catfish. I raised mine from 2.5" to about 14", they have an extremely fast growth rate. Although it lays still most of the time, it is a v ery strong fish that can attack or move surprisngly fast... w/ bursting speed! I plan on keeping another one sometime in the near future.

I saw a helicopter cat yesterday at a pet store. I'm glad I couldn't afford to purchase the little bugger. Those things het huge.

one of the employees at the lfs has two of them and they are awesome.

those guys can cause some serious harm......they are rather predatory from what i heard, the guy at one of the local aquariums has quite a few on sale

Just how big do they really get? About as big Pangasionodon gigas? That would be awesome to have something that big in home aquarium.

i dobt they can get that big

Pangasius gigas reaches 10' in length (300cm) while Wallago attu 8' in length (240cm). Not an entirely big difference; especially when you are discussing the attempt at housing one in an aquarium. They are both huge fish that won't last long in your average tank.
