Had the chance of a three foot one going Free but turned it down as I like the monster fish i have already in the pond it would go in with.
Cool. I am heavily tempted to get them from Mike Aquascape as well.
I am not aware nor recall anyone keeping a large one, which is pretty sad for us as a community of MFKers. In fact I don't think there has ever been a single ongoing report here even on a small one being grown out for some appreciable length of time. Pitiful.

had one years and years ago. They were in a few LFS too, but, since then, they haven’t been offered much. Except for Wes a couple of times. I’ve heard they are very hard to come by anymore, in the wild, especially young. Are these the red cf?
Not currently, my Jau is still only around 8" , the larger ones in the pond are, redtail, girraffes, sperata aor, vulture cat and wykii.
Please consider doing a grow out thread on this beautiful little creature as he truly is a thing of beauty.
