Hey guys!
So i have a poly endli that i bought in April at 4", hes now about 10/11". Prob is even though hes this long, hes about maybe an 1.5" (2 at best) thick in girth. Right now all i can get him to eat is shrimp. Bloodworms dont interest him, feeder fish cudnt be more boring to him, and pellets im not too sure (have tried massivore sinking pellets but my catfish eats them too). He definatly eats the shrimp np, but only if i break it into smaller pieces (normally taking a cocktail shrimp and splitting in 3).

What else can i try to feed him? I see a lot of bichirs at this size almost double the girth, or maybe im over reacting and its normal at this age?

I dont know about you but he's pretty thick. But you should def give him pellets to get him growing more. Also, try changing your substrate. Your endli could choke on that. :) Nice endli btw. Got my lap around that length also and I'm telling you, they look way better not fat but longer. :D

Age. He will put on girth as he ages.

He is spending all of his energy growing longer. He will get fatter with age. Just like I did  just stp feeding the shrimp. He will take pellets eventually. I wouldn't hesitate to go 2 weeks without feeding.

My endli is fat at 6-7 inches. Feed him pellets, meal worms, shrimp and tilapia. In my experience, a less stressed poly will eat better, try adding dark substrate to change the mood.

Dark substrate would be hard to change to :s, how do you even go about that process?

Btw here is a more recent photo :)

Just purchase some fine to medium sand then pour it over your current substrate, that would make a nice marble colour effect w.hich endli's love :)

If you put small sand on top it will eventually end up on the bottom with the big stuff on top. That's what happened when I tried it.
