hi guys:headbang2

So i wanna start breeding flowerhorns for a profit:drool:. My plan is to buy 5 flowerhorns and house them in their own 1.2m by 45h by 45l tanks which is 245 liters and then get a much larger tank, around 150 gallons or 200 with a divider in the middle for breeding. i intend on getting some high quality adults:grinno:, what do u guys think. if it sound like a good plan i will be sure to post a build thread too lol:):):):):):):):)

Start with a good pair of fish. If you buy ugly fish and breed them there's no point. If you expect to make money off of them people are going to want to see the parents and if they are not good quality you'll be left with a lot of fish nobody wants. If I were you I would join flowerhorncraze.com and wait for the Japro Indonesian group buy and invest in something amazing.

ya i defiantly want to get the best quality i can get my hands on, i was thinking of getting a fish from each major family ie Zen Zhu, maybe a golden monkey, kamfa [if i can find a fertile one] and a golden base fader. Would interbreeding strains produce better strains or should i stick to one. Are the 1.2m 250 liter tank set ups big enough?

Please give as much info as possible:nilly:

You can breed them in 60 gallons, however their off-springs(several hundred eggs) gonna need a big tank if you wanna grow some MP flowerhorn to sale. Than you need more tanks to divide some of the bully (like betta) otherwise they will kill a few off-springs.

sorry i meant i will keep the flowerhorns separated in their own tanks[a 55gallon/245liters], when i want to breed two of them, i will take them out and put them in a 200 gallon with a divider.
