I came home from school on friday and my dads home which is really weird.........theres a twenty gallon long tank on the counter and hes like you can have it my buddy gave it to me...............i literally got a 20gal long a couple weeks ago( for free too:screwy: ) and im putting cons in it...........so i wanna put some kind of reptile in the tank.........preferably a lizard of snake........what do you guys recommend?............i've only kept bullfrogs and garder snakes before so i'm pretty much a newb to reptiles........any help would be great............

Well depending on the set up you want to use, what comes to mind for first time reptile pets would be, corn snake, california kingsnake, leopard geckos, fat tailed geckos. Those are all hardy come in nice colors, and tolerate handling. Be wary the california king snakes can and will occasionally eat other snakes so no housing multiples in there (multiples for snakes is asking for trouble anyway but thats a different topic).

Personally i'd recomend leopard geckos for the lizard idea, great pets.

leopord geckos and corn snakes are the main two i have been thinking of............i just can't seem to make up my mind...........i wasn't really thinking of housing more than one so what would be better as a solitary pet?

i miagine both would be ok, but a lot of people think that is best to keep all snakes by themselves

If you like pets with attitude try Tokay Geckoes, these are Bobo and Babs.

Your brave to hold them beasts. I wouldn't recommed a tokay if you want to actually touch your herp.
