So as i get closer to getting my 125 gallon tank and getting it ready I wanna make sure the fish will be ok. After the fish outgrow their 55 and get tossed in the 125 i want them to live a happy life. The fish are as follows, loiselli cichlid, jag, tiger oscar. I also have a palmas bichir that will go in there. I'm also figuring out if i should throw the hujeta gars in there once they are grown. The loiselli stays no matter what so if the jag or oscar have to go then they have to go. I would like to replace them with either a gt or something. Any ideas? Also keep in mind that the fish will be in the 55 for a while and if the 125 gets put on hold which it may i do have a 75 thats my dads that I'm also working on for him. The loiselli can live in a 55-75 for life as ive read up about the fish. What else could i keep if i dump the other 2. What would you guys suggest? Be gentle:naughty:

i think that stock would be fine in a 125g, but it sounds kind of like you are tired of them and want something new, in that case a GT would definitely work as well and are great cichlids to have, you could also do a carpintis of some kind, or you could stick with all parachromis and do the loiselli, a rtm and freddy with some dithers, but all the fish you have right now are going to grow fast so you definitely shouldnt put off the 125 too long

.... adding another very aggressive fish is just adding more vinegar to the baking soda

Thats my main purpose for the post. Idk exactly when i can set it up i moved back home to save money for when i get married next august in 2011. The loiselli from what ive read only needs 55-75. this may be wrong. The tank hes in right now is a 20 gallon long due to remodeling in my house so they are easy to move. The 55 is running in my basement so it cycles when i can put it up. I have many tank options. The 125 is mine and the 75 is my dads if i neede it. I wanna keep it short so i wanna stick with fish that can live in a 75 with the loiselli for life so when the 125 goes up i know they will have plenty of room.

Please remember that i would like to get rid of the oscar or jag if not both. They are terrified of the loiselli. The loiselle is about 5 inches and the other 2 are around 2 1/2 inches.

i was only suggesting it for when he gets the larger tank not in the tank he has now.

and OP then i really would get any more fish, get rid of both the jag and Oscar as they are probably terrified of the lois because there is no room and its claiming territory, Os are not aggressive like the other two and jags dont get agressive until they are bigger, just enjoy the loiselli until you can get the 125 set up, maybe a convict or something small if you must have another fish in with it

i just want some help. Im not looking to add fish without getting rid of fish. The O and jag will go as they do nothing but hide. Its funny to me cuz my bichir isnt scared and neither are the 2 giant danios swimming around too. He's not aggressive

yeah they are scared because they are in small tank with a fish twice as big as they are, the lois probably doesnt bother the other fish because they aren't cichlids, Os usually arent hiders at all unless they are being picked on. but yeah just follow the advice already given and get more fish once you have the other tank set-up (unless its like a convict), you dont want to get more fish and then have to get rid of them again when they out grow the tank before you can get the other one set-up
