I'm currently raising my third batch of kribs( about 30 in this batch), they are with their parents as i have always done,,,,,,,. when they breed i usually see at least 250 eggs on the rock inside the cave, and only end up with 20 or 30 fry( no gravel vac.- ing),,,,,,,would i have more success if i removed the rock with the eggs attached and placed it in a separate fry raising tank?,,,,what are the risks?,,and what is the best procedure to use to accomplish this?,,,,thx all !!

Id give pulling the rock out with the eggs on it into a smaller or sectioned off area of the main tank.....(breeder cages/betta).....trhey mihgt be getting ate or sucked into the filter.....

the parents may eat the unfertale eggs i had a pair last week lay 100-150 eggs and eat them all because they were desterbed to much

I would just get a divider in the tank and split the fertilized eggs and the parents and others up. Give er a try!

it could just be the species itself.

for example, ocellaris clowns lay hundreds of eggs, but only 50-100 will survive.
