i've been into some places in NJ that have them but they ask you for All your info before purchasing.

How ever, They are Illegal in NY and only Scientist and Aquariums get licenses.

any fish store in nj will have red bellys, just not petco or petsmart. and they dont ask for info ive never had them ask me for my info. good luck

Go to shark aquarium in Hillside. it has the best selection of piranha i have ever seen in jersey.
i live in mass and bought mine in ri without a problem. the woman that owns the place said that she gets people from nh to conn there for her redbelllies and they are some of the best ive ever seen
if they're illegal. i wouldnt suggest a "mom and pop" store. if you get caught, you'll be fined. pretty hefty fine btw
