right now i have a 55 set up till i find a 75 to grow my fish out and when they growout the 75 then they will be moved into my newly bought 150 that goes up in the future. I sold some fish because i didnt want any harm to come to my other fish. Right now my 55 stock looks like this.

1 delhezi bichir
2 pike cichlids
1 clown knife

In mt 30 gallon i have a delhezi and a fire eel that will be aded when big enough.

I want to add a active swimmer as my ck hides alot till dark and my other fish are bottom swimmers. I know how big the eel and ck get so i dont need to hear about that cuz when the time comes it will be handled. As for a new fish i was thinking about a jack dempsey. They are $2.50 onsale at petsmart. Its been 4 years since i owened a jd cuz my 9 inch male died and i couldnt bring myself to get another cuz i loved that fish but i think its time now. Whatcha think

As long as you are really planning on making an upgrade to the 150, I think that you will be okay with a JD. Mine have never been that active though. I mean they swim around but they stick close to the bootom. Your experience with them may be a lot different than mine. There are other cichlids that are more active than JDs in my opinion. I just don't know how they would interact with your CK and pikes.

The knifes will normally be left alone by the cichlids depending on their size I know my 2 were not hassled once by my cichlid community.
