I am working on a 110 tall tank that will be pretty heavily planted. I have 8 Young Discus, the largest being about 3.5-4" the smallest is about 2"

I want to add some other fish for diversity. I was thinking about some Zebra Loaches. The problem I have is, I live in the middle of nowhere. I had to drive 5 hours to pick up my Dicus. I am not having any luck finding zebras. I was thinking of clowns as a second choice. What do you think?

I have to be honest, I have never kept anything with discus before. I have always kept them by themselves, but with all the plants, I thought it would be nice to share. All help would be apreciated.

I have a large school of clown loaches in with my discus and haven't had any problems. The seem to make great tank mates.

I was worried about them getting too big. That is why I was leaning towards the Zebras. I want to have 8 to 12 of what ever I put in. Any other suggestions?

Cory cats are a great choice for a discus tank. You could easily do a nice school of 8-12 depending on the variety.

2nd choice: Botia kubotai, Botia histrionica, Botia dario, Botia rostrata, Yasuhikotakia sidthimunki

The Sterbais look awesome with Discus, as well as loaches.

get 6 corydoras sterbai, they are very nice bottom dwellers, i just bought 4 for my community tank. clown loach do very well with discus as well.

If you want to put 10 - 12 clownloaches with your discus, i doubt the discus will get a lot of food. They will always be faster near the food then the discus. Clowns will dominate your tank a lot more then zebra's. They get alot bigger and are more daily active then zebra's.
