I'm looking for a Goonch catfish. Preferably the Bagarius Bagarius but any will do really. Also I'm interested in a wolf fish! Separate tanks of course! 😆 shipping is preferred unless you're in ohio!

I have and I have a 350 gal set up for one which I've let run for going on 4 months to make sure it's in pristine condition. And when the monster outgrows that I've made plans with my local aquarium to donate him there so he can live the rest of his life in a proper set up!

Tangled up in cichlids might have one.usually public aquariums DO NOT take fish from individuals. Take one , and everyone has something to donate. Its just easier for them to buy their own for CHEAP than to introduce someones disease into the facilities. Better make sure. You have a long time to think about it though. They grow pretty slow. Good luck.

Luckily I've got a friend who works there and if the big guy is in good health by that time, assuming I end up with one, he said they would gladly take it. But I am fortunate they grow slowly. A monster like this is a real commitment! Thanks!

Have you done research on goonches. Theyre not the easiest to take care of.

+1 read the major goonch threads rob and I have up. Especially when talking about species types.

Great thread! A 300g will give me a few years to set up a massive indoor pond! do you have any tips based on experience for keeping one? And from where did you purchase a relatively small one?

I have had them bought locally. Shipped in from Miami. Shipped in from Cali and picked up from rapps. It really depends. I lost my first pair, but the rest of my guys are doing really well. Tips can be found in the "on the difficulty of identifying your goonch" thread by Chixlub" Airation is a must. So is heavy water flow. stable temperatures (temp all dependent on species you end up actually finding. The majority are misidentified.
