I think he means the hoplias malabaricus, they're usually referred to common wolf fish.

I see malabaricus for sale at my lfs. My brother and I used to have one at 3 inches, but we sold him for $35 last year, that beast should be big though right now. They were boring, but when you fed him, he would be very active and cool. Where are you located though?
