You're going to get a lot of mixed reviews on this topic... Its helps with meds like said above and helps with slime coat. I use it every water change.

I don't put anything i don't need in the water. If I'm treating the fish for some kind of sickness then i'll add salt. Otherwise, I don't see the point.
