Want to set up a 2.5 gallon tank

hi guys i have a 2.5 gallon sitting around...so i was thinking why not set it up for plants... can someone point me in the right direction or give me links to where i can find helpful tips and ideas because this is going to be my first attempt at a planted tank... also thinking of putting maybe some red cherry shrimps/ other shrimps in there.... let me know..

I have a 2.5g tank/glass of water and it was hard keeping the water good. I put plants and fry in mine for a week and gave up because it is soooo small. gl
