Ok guys I have never kept pirahna's before so I have some questions. I have a 90 gal tankset up I want to know how many should I keep, I was thinking 5-6 rbs. I also need to know what I can keep with them I'm hoping a common pleco. I'm not new to the the hobby just new to pirahna. And I'm going to order them online and want to raise them from as young as I can get them, what's a good size to start at and a good place to buy them? Thanks

You can start out with 5 or 6 in a 90, although it'd be cramped with them at adult sizes. You may lose one or two to cannibalism when young, so it may work out number wise in the long run.

Expect anything in the tank with them to eventually be killed/eaten, including plecos. They may leave it alone for a while, but chances are they will eventually take it out, along with exodons. You can always try it out, but only if you know going in the likely result is not going to be good.

You'll love the shoal though, they're awesome fun to raise from babies. There are several vendors on the forum that carry them and who will ship.

How far is granite falls from Portland?

Edit: never mind. Looked it up. Never heard of it. Im from washington too. no site we'd recommend would ship to you

I was at a local pet store and they had a vary large tank with a bunch of Black pirahna. While I was looking in the tank I saw one exodon in the tank. Exodons like to have plenty of space. The first night I put them in my 220 gallon tank one swam from one end of the tank to the other slamming in to the glass. I now have 8 exodons in a 65 gallon tank while I finish my 625 gallon tank and they are not happy.

did you research before buying? Most of my research said exodons are better off packed in species only tanks. none recommended large tanks.

I would not recommend putting exos in red belly tanks unless they're large adults. Waste of money. They'll get eaten

Also, which large black piranha shoals? I'm curious
