there's a swamp/lake near where I live and at the tailrace of it (very small about 20 yards accross) it's just packed with bowfins. They're actually one on top of the other. People just throw them on the banks. I've caught them up to 25" in there. I'm going to get one for my monster tank soon. PM me if you want me to get one for you. Free (can't sell em). Don't know about shipping or where you are though...
