so i got the new tetrafauna viquarium for my 55 gallon tank in my room. i plan to have plants added as well as feeder fish for the water section. there are about 15 to 20 gallons of water in the tank. what would look great in the tank? i was thinking african dwarf frogs for the water, fire belly toads for the land, and green tree frogs for the vines if i decide to add an upper atmosphere. i know fire belly toads release toxins but thats only when they are aggravated. ADFs are harmless. give me suggestions please, thanks:)

I love amphibians as well as planted tanks... but I've never had luck getting enough lighting for the plants and keeping the enclosure cool enough for the amphibians. The last two Vivariums I set up for Dart Frogs ended up being plant only tanks for that reason.

i like red eyed tree frogs but i love reptiles more...try a snake or maybe a gecko..if it is up and down tank you cant be crested geckos otherwise leopard geckos

Please do not try to mix. I've read many, many cases in which the firebellied toads acted aggressively and killed a couple of firebellied newts. By the way, firebellied toads are semi aquatic and the toxins of the paratoid glans are secreted in large amounts when aggravated, whilst they are not, there are still toxins being given off in a more limited amount. All so very often, there is the judgmental call of "but they've been doing fine", trust me, it rarely, if ever works out.
