Quick tip if you have a sand substrate they are terrible news. Sand can get stuck in them and essentially you are grinding the sand into your glass/acrylic and can leave nasty scratches. I found out the hard way.

no way you didn't check to see if the sand get in between? Magnet cleaner is a must for big tank. Anything else is tiring and time consuming.
