Hello i want a Arapaima Gigas...but i have no cash but i have a new grey PS2 with a controller and 5 games with the AC adapter and the memory card with 64 MB.

Sorry for the derail...

you want an arapaima but you don't have any cash? Even if you got one, how would you maintain, feed, and care for it. These guys have a growth rate unheard of in other fish, and they need an equally large maintainence. You should reconsider. How big of a tank do you have?

BTW, Alex at Fish Room Plus had some

oh the money will be in from my parents not from me thats why i dont have the money....their greedy on buying me it but they'll buy the stuff i need to built a large pond for one...dont worry i already talked to John bout this and he seems fine with it

if that's the case, you should have the pond built before you get the pima

oh ok...well if thats the case to you guys..i'll build it then but imma only follow what John has in mind

as for maintaining if i do get one...doing all the necessary water check large water changes.Feeding...i can have a shipment from a old friend of mines with large amount of raw prawns, large pellets that is mix of cichlid pellets for my cichlids...and arowana pellets in the batch...and many live insects while its small and a lot of crustaceans like lil crabs and crayfish and other live...but no goldfishes or guppies....and for the other care for these guys...they will be cared for during the day around 9:00 am to 3:00 pm by my parents. As for the rest of the day i will be the one taking care of it.During weekends i will be the one monitoring the fishes the 2 days of in the weekends.(This is what may happen if i get it) And i already know the size of these giants....i wouldnt come to you guys if i didnt read the info on the net...but if i did need help finding out something i would come to you guys but more likely John as he has experience with them.I know its more likely they will get to 9' but from what i am hearing from alot of keepers wh has them in their large tank or pond they get their or to their large size of 13-16'.May take a few years or so but i know how fast they grow.I know the precautions to having these guys. But if i do start building a tank...it will be a 26'x26'x8' thats will be size that will be built.

but if their is any exceptions to the building of the 26x26'x8' in shortening the size it may have to go down size to 24'x15'x8'. Only if i have to make a size adjustments to fit in our yard

Fish Room Plus, AquaScape, or Shark Aquarium all might have them. FRP I know had some. But they would require shipping to CA. Might check with Ocean Blue/All Happy to see if they have any.

GL to you.
