I would really like a Tilapia of some sort for my 75 gallon. Although, I'm not sure as to what kind. The only species I know are Buttikoferi(wich I have liked for a while), And Large/Small spot(dont even know if thats the correct term for them)
I'm just looking for a large, agressive fish that looks has amazing color. It doesnt have to be an agressive species, because I'd like to try some tankmates, but if single specimen is a must, so be it.

Any suggestions? I have a few other stocking themes for this tank, but I'm just looking into all different kinds of fish.

Thanks. :)

When you say large small spot you are probably speaking of a Polleni. They are nice fish relatively slow growersand semi aggressive IME. You can have tankmates just dont have small ones. Mine tried to eat my electric yellow a dozen times.

What would you reccomend with Polleni? I was thinking of maybe 4-5 Polypterus.
They remind me of Managuense, Almost like african jags.

polleni aren't that aggressive at all IME, a little less aggresive than say, a jack dempsey.

I have a blue johanni a white socoffoli and the doomed electric yellow. My polleni didnt get more aggressive until he got some size on him he was picked on at first, so choose tankmates wisely. Here is a pic of him sorry about the water spots.

My polleni is not very aggressive, but is very territorial and will try to chase all other fish away. This did not work well for him when he came up against my red devil, so had to move to another tank. If you would like to see pics of my polleni, click the link in my sig

that's a great looking polleni. I've noticed mine doesn't do more than just chase to assert its dominance, also being the most active come feeding time, but just two days ago I had to remove a smaller JD from the tank because it was biting the polleni on its body pretty badly. I keep the polleni with mostly South American and some Central American cichlids, but imagine they can go well with most malawi haps and/or larger tanganyikans

Savage, your polleni looks awesome. I like there body shape, and there eyes combined with the mouth shape make them look awesome.

Your Polleni is great looking aswell Bderick, great coloring!

Would it be possible to keep a Mariae Tilapia with a Polleni? I really like Mariaes.

Any other species worth looking at? You guys have been a big help so far. This is really my first time looking into Tilapia, I've looked at pics and such but I really dont know anything about them. The only africans I have kept are yellow labs, blue zebras, and crabros.

As stated above Polleni or Bleekeri probably would be a good choice. I would stay away from Butti's because of their aggresive nature and they love to dig and rearrange your tank. They do have great personalities tho.

Where do you live at in WA?

There is a 12" buttikoferi for $50 at a LFS here in Spokane.. nice one, too..
