Is it normal for your parrots to hide? What is the best way to get them out and about? I bought them because I think their beautiful and I want to see them. Do they just need time to get used to their surroundings? Should I take away hiding spots?

Its not unusual for BP's to hide for a week or 2. Theyve been in tanks with hundreds of other BP's then Moved to a lfs tank of 25 then on to your tank on there own or maybe with another one or 2 its no surpise they will hide. They will soon become confident and will be out and about.

When I first got my parrots, they were very shy but I started sitting right by the tank whenever I fed them. They started to associate me with food and now they love seeing me come by. You might try it!

i love parrots, they have a quirky personality.my 100 gallon used to be next to my bed and every morning when i woke up and looked over there they were all 22 of them staring at me.mine also liked to eat blood worms from a plastic fork, they would jump up to get the worms.just give them time, they'll warm up 2 ya. :grinno:

eeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwww, that's just bein' ugly! yes i use to put live bloodworms on a fork and they would jump up to suck them off the fork.how am i a TROLL? urg...........

i don't point the prongs at them, and they were small i moved alot of them til there was only like 12 in the 100 gallon.they are all good.
