I currently have a 40 Breeder that has been running for about 8 months. I currently have 7 synodontis lucipinnis, 1 Panda Garra, 8 Diamond Tetras, 5 glowlight rasboras, and 10 young silvertip tetras. I am wanting to add 10 more silvertips to make it 20 in total, but I didn't know if I was going to be over doing it. I am currently running an AquaClear 110 with a prefilter sponge so no gets sucked up. I do 50 % water changes every weekend and the fish have done fine with it. My nitrates currently are never beyond 10 ppm.

Should I go for it or will this be too much for a 40 Breeder?

I have never kept the synods, but know they like pH above neutral to alkaline, unlike the 2 tetra species which prefer softer and lower pH. My guess is also that you are fully stocked as it is for a 40b. Others with more relevant experience may enlighten you better. Good luck!

IMO, the tank will be overstocked, but as long as you keep up with the weekly maintenance it's doable.
My tanks are overstocked as well, Lol.
