wanting to breed corys

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The Only way I know to sex them is the females get way fatter than the males. I think Two years is the magic age for breeding(not sure on that) As far as I can tell, They breed better in large groups. You need to simulate rainfall with Ice cubes or water changes, and when the eggs are laid, the parents need to be separated or they will just be a snack. The eggs stick to glass, or filter tubes, or whatever they thought was fun. Somewhere around 5-10 days on hatching. Feed micro-worms or something similar. I want to say they have 100 or so eggs, not sure on that either though.

some time of the corys carry their eggs under them by a kinda pocket formed by their pelvic fins joined together.
the female is more bulkier than the male.
keep the young in a tank with no bottom material and feed them on micro worms

Depends how amny you have or you are getting?
I would personally get a batch of 6 to be honest...
