I want to setup my new 125 for plecos. (maybe some dithers but only plecos If I can)

What I have. for my setup

125gal
black sand substraight
black painted background
FX5
1 or 2 penguin 350Bs
driftwood/bogwood (whats the diff)

this tank will be setup in a couple of weeks so I am needing to find out all I can about plecos that I would like to have in this tank.

Size
Compatabilty
Diet
and ANYTHING else usefull

As OF now what I am looking at for a stock list is....
1 common
1 True albino common
1 Scarlet L25
1 Gold Nugget L18
1 gibbiceps
1 Rhino

I am sorry I don't know the L numbers for all of them ( Can you tell im new with plecos lol) And I would like to have in the ballpark of ten or more plecos if possible in this tank. and all a little more exotic and somewhat harder to come by.

I need to know about these fish and what else I can keep in a 125 with them. and what anyone knows about any of the above listed fish or any others that are interesting plecos they may have or have pictures of. (please post pics of interesting plecos) I have looked through some of the show your pleco thread and that is where I got most of my stock list from. About as far as my knowledge goes about plecos is that the commons should outgrow the 125. but thats ok b/c I plan to buy small juvis and it should take awhile to grow them out.

SO if you have any info that I can use PLEASE help me out I am making a call in the morning about the availabilty of some of these plecos. and should have the tank up and running soon.

A couple of possible issues.

Agression between the plecos, they may get on fine in a big tank, or they may fight. It's hard to predict.

Different Diet. The L25 is mostly carnivorous, the Sailfin and common more vegetarian, but will certainly go for any meaty food, and probably get there first. So it's hard to keep the Sailfin on a 75% vege diet, and still get the L25 fed properly.

But there is generally no reason you cant keep several large plecos together. I have a Sailfin, two L001 and a 'common' P. pardalis in one of my tanks. They live in relative peace, a few ripped fins when the Sailfin went in there, that was the L001s being stroppy and beating up the larger Sailfin. Thinkgs did settle down quite quickly. But the tank would be pretty dull if it was just them. They tend to spend most of their time blobbing out under a log or in the corner. Not exactly lively.

The tank has tiger barbs and kribensis cichlids as 'dithers'. You can keep pretty much any sensible fish with plecos. They pretty much ignore the smaller tankmates, and will only argue with others over food or a hiding spot.

I think the aggersion should be able to be delt with or I hope b/c a scarlet is one of my top picks. also I want to start them out as small as I can get them. so they can grow up with each other and hopefully not fight.

As far as the deit goes what do you feed a carnivorous pleco ? sinking cichlid pellets?

I'm not to commcerned about how lively the tank is. the tank it will be sittting next to will be a tank with RBPs and they don't do to much either till feeding time. I just think plecos are very cool looking. And more on the odd side.
