yesterday i was at my lfs and saw that they had a tank full of baby silvers maybe 3 in or so. i couldnt believe the price $17. right now i only have a 90gal corner and a 125 rec. ive read that an aro needs at least 300. my question is how long can i keep one in my 90. im a glazier so i have done any and everything with glass except build an aquarium. if i can build a 60story highrise and endless other custom glass structures im sure building a 350gal fishtank shoulb be easy how long do i have before i have to move him, ive never kept one and i really want to.any advice would be appreceated.

Your right in saying it's 300g mim for a silver arowana.

Arowanas are very sensitive at 3", just make sure they don't still have there yolk sack attached thogh, if they do.....don't buy one.

But back to the question you could probable keep a silver aro in a 90 gallon for around 1 year

When they are Juviniles they usually grow 1 inch per month, with a proper diet< until they hit 12 inches, then they slow down a little bit.

In a 125 you should have arround a year. But when Silver Aro's are full grown they can reach 4 feet. So, you might want to start building a pond instead... But you would probably get a couple good years with the 300 before it gets a little cramped. You can give me the 300 if he gets too big for it.
