So I am upgrading my tank soon to a much larger tank. Was originally going to go with a 300 and was paying on it but thinking about doing a 125-220 instead. (I am also going to be getting a tegu soon so that is why the downsize.)

I would really like to keep some kind of pike. I have seen one at my lfs that had a dark body and red fins. Not sure the exact species but it has me wanting to get one. In the tank there will be a electric blue jack dempsey, tire track eel, albino channel catfish pictus catfish and rapheals. Would one of these work? if not are there any other cool decent sized substitutes?

Dark body and red fins sounds like a johanna pike, an aggressive pike from the lugubris family. I wouldnt' put an EBJD with any from the lugubris family, chances are high it will get stressed out from the pikes aggression. If you are set on the EBJD, then a pike from the saxatilis family would be a better match. They tend to be more compatible in a community setting and would fit fine in a 6 foot long tank.

Is the pike your center piece fish?

Well I am not set on the one pike that I seen. I am set on keeping my EBJD as it my favorite fish species other than a RTC which I can not own at this point in time. I am more looking for other ideas from people with experience to see if there are any that would work. Also I suck at scientific names lol I am fairly new to the hobby.
