i have this idea that i am building a totaly custom fish tank that is a coffe table, and i have many idea for awesome fiberglass stands.. what do you guys think about a business like that.. im am trying to get input on if it will be a succesfull business or not? any ideas?

actually it's sucess would depend on your ideas... the basis is a good idea and has been a growing market over the past few years I've heard this many times and seen a few tanks ... there are some professional tanks which are on the market... jebo is one that I can think of off the top of my head... If your designs/ideas are good it's possible to create a business from it...

my coffe table idea is that you cant see any of the filter glass top and sides with wood frame around it all black. ill need to draw an offical plan i started to buil it though

Aquarium coffee tables are being mass produced in China and look excellent with a wide range of styles and colours for very very reasonable prices.

There may be a niche market for yours ?

Only major problem with coffee table tanks has been getting power to them.

Ofcourse... not everyone is looking for one of these coffee table aquariums but just like for coffee tables themselfs people don't always want the cookie cutter sizes which are out there....I as an example have looked at several units but havn't come across one I would buy because it wouldn't go well in my living room...or they looked like crap...an no one here custom makes them... not that I would order a custom one either... I'll prob make one myself in a few years if I can't find one that i want

I would first think of things that could go wrong, and figure out how you could fix a problem before it crushed you. For example, Aquarium manufactures give warruntees on their stuff. If you have warruntees on your tanks (good practice) what happens when a huge lot fails, does property damage, and they sue for the repairs? Just make sure you have your insurance for that type of thing. I guess what I am saying is make sure you count your costs prior to starting up.

It could work if youre really dedicated or talented preferably both.
Theres always a niche if youre willing to work hard enough at it
