ok so right now i have a 120g (5ftx18) tank, with growouts of several types and am trying to figure out which ones to keep and which to sell as they are almost to the size to where i need to start thinning out my stock, so i have a GT pair that are definitely staying as they are my favs right now, apart from that i have 3 cubans which right now are the only ones actually causing fights in my tank they are constantly chasing the other fish, i also have a robertsoni thats the biggest at 6-7in but i would really only want to get rid of him if i absolutely had to, i also have 3 carpintis 'vontehillos', 2 carpintis 'escondidos' (one of which i would really like to keep as they are what got me back into freshwater in the first place), a festae fry which i will probably only keep if it is female, and a kigoma frontosa (i know its african but he does great in the tank and im not too worried about him taking up space since he grows slow and i wont have to worry about finding him a home for awhile)

So i was thinking about seeing if i could make it work with one of each but with the way the cubans are going im not sure if thats going to work so what do you guys think would be the coolest to keep along with the GT pair without being overstocked at full size (everything except the robertsoni is under 4in now with the festae and escondidos being the smallest at 1.5-2in)

Id get rid of the Gts, but thats me.

Bring the cubans over here, if you want, and take the argentea and see if he goes with that mix. Sounds like he might fit perfectly. It will be less fish in your tank with him being as big as the gts...unless you think the cubans will harass my Istlanums. If so, Ill pass.

yeah i mean i really like the GTs right now so for now id really like to keep them and may eventually get rid of the female but def want to keep at least the male, and yeah that would be cool i think in your tank they would have so much room they wouldnt mess with anyone and they dont really do any damage they just chase alot, its just everyone in my tank is actually fairly passive believe it or not lol so they are the only ones being a@#es lol and i think with your grammodes to keep them in check they wouldnt really mess with anyone too much, (and if they did start messing with the istlanums i could just take them back and put them up for sale...)

Nobody have any suggestions? so if i trade with VRWC then ill have GT pair and Argentea what would go well with them?

:ROFL: mmmmm im kind of craving some guacamole now lol that could be good dish though verde cuban salsa with a little escondido mixed in LMAO, n yeah i think he'll be fine for awhile i just wanted to get some help on final over all stocking once everythings grown cus i really have no idea which to keep for life lol as you and now everyone else can tell im very indecisive LMAO look at how random my stock list lol

I had some rather bad luck keping carpintis with my GT, the different ones I had all ended up beating on my GT. But they would leave everything else alone in the tank. Now if I could convince the old lady to get another tank I'd be putting a pair of carpintis in it.

oh really? hopefully i have better luck because id really like to keep one of the escondidos, so what im thinking is
GT pair (may eventually be just the male)
Argentea
Escondido (hopefully they get along ok)
Robertsoni

would this be ok final stock for 5ft tank when all are grown?

Ive never kept carpintis with GTs, so I cant say on that, but everything there sounds like a perfect match.

It would be a colorful tank too...and not too aggressive.
