Looking for a permitted hatchery or someone licensed for fish collection. I have seen on a Google search a few fisheries and one of which doesn't seem to be operating anymore that had stock. Completely failing to contact someone with a breeding group but there seemed to be a market for them ten years ago with comments on this site relating to warmouth were around the same time frame.
 
Dunno, but it seems like warmouths live in NJ. Bait shops and fish trucks (which normally stop at farmer's co-ops and feed stores once or twice a season) sometimes have sunfish - normally just green around here in AR. Not sure about NJ fishing regulations, but I just collected my orange spot sunfishes from the creek down the road with a small cast net.
 
Matt, great info will have to look further I to this matter before pursuing. The article describes kill on site and therefore would potentially be treated like owning a snake head. I'm good without the 10k fine. Mods can close this out.
