Lately, alot of members (myself included) have expressed an interest in getting a copy of the Nat'l Geo special 'Jewel of the Rift'. It's a documentary about the african rift lakes and the fish species in them. This show was made available only on VHS tape. I found a site that looked like a NatGeo site offering the full DVD download for free. I know that should have been a warning. But, I tried the download and wound up infecting my PC with a really bad virus. It immediately killed my windows explorer's .exe files which means I can't uninstall anything. It killed Java. Also my internet accesses and tools, malwarebytes, fixwindows, fixreg, regzooka, malzooka, Mcafee, Norton, and who knows what else.

Just wanted to put an alert out there for anyone else looking for this documentary in DVD format.

I've gotten a virus similar to this. Go into safe mode and you should be able to fix it from there. Just restore to an earlier time before the download.

My wife was watching the 'jewel of the rift' preview on my PC with me when the virus hit. Unlucky for the PC but, lucky for me. It wasn't 'pr0n'
 
hahahaha, i can imagine the conversation if the story were the other way around.

i got something similar from legit sports viewing site but all i heard about was it's those dirty movies you watch!
 
Nat geo has aired this a few times in the last few weeks, maybe they will again and you can DVR the show.
