I had a small 1.5 Pakistani loach. its lived with a 2 inch bn plec. I have observed a shocking behaviour- the bn plec floored the Pakistani. it covered its entire head with its suction mouth, possibly crushing the Pakistani. thankfully this didn't happen to my larger Pakistanis. So my warning to all loach keepers is to be careful when housing plecs and loaches, especially if the plec is bigger.

Are you sure it wasn't dead?
I have an 18" panaque (huge fish in comparison to the loaches)with 8 clown loaches 3"-7" and they chill out under him or next to him all day with no issues. Before they lived with 30+ plecos all bigger than them and again absolutely no issues at all.

I'm pretty sure I saw it swimming before the plec covered it. I certainly think it has something to do with the cave structure I have, as there was a little gap between the sucker mouth and the Pakistanis body.

I'm pretty much positive that you're 2" pleco didn't crush your loach.
Its possible it had something to do with it's death, but I kind of doubt that too. Are you sure the pleco didn't start in on it after it was dead?
