THis morning my friends fish shop caught fire. Its in a warehouse and hes got classic surfboards and really did a good job making this shop special,he is mostly into service but he does stock an ok amount of fish.Lots of supplies, some very nice salt tanks on display. Also has his pet parrot in their all the time.
We saw the black smoke pouring out,a friend was trying to hose water past the metal roll up doors and right before we decided to break the window to save the bird the fire truck came.busted open the roll up door,we told them about the bird and they kind of didnt seem to care too much. They just kind of glanced to the cage and one guy looked in and said it wasnt in it,they thought it was loose somewhere.I said no way and plowed passed them while they were finishing with the fire and grabbed his cage out,the bird was on the bottom and I reached in and he snapped to and was alive. We got him to fresh air and then the owner pulled up,only worried about his bird and was so relieved.
It was breathing very bad and blinking alot was active enough to grab my fingers and be held so he rushed it to the vet.Im glad I didnt need to give it mouth to beak. The parrot is doing good now and will be fine. The fire was caused by a uv sterilizer light malfunction or it just overheated or something but it was the light that caused it all,I dont know anything about those but it burned down a 10 foot wall of fish and about a small bedroom size space of other stuff.Just watch your stuff guys, this could have taken his entire shop,or house,it wasnt pretty but we are so happy the bird made it.THis guy is a real kind hearted person, glad he didnt get totally ruined.
