warts on stingray body

Hello all,
I was wondering if you have seen a phenomena of warts on stingray body. I have a couple of stingrays that have these. Both have it for over than 2 years, so I do not think that is cancer kind of a toumor.

My hyposesis on that is that these are growing after the fish was beaten by his tank mates. The wart has some sharp shape in the center which probably protects from future bites.

Is it just a lump of fat or more like a mole?

Are these denticles grow after the fish is hurt? Note in the second pic there are batch of such.
