was my cichlid pregnent

I got this african and she started getting a little bit of a belly but I just figured it was becuse she was eating more then she did at the pet store. I went away for the week and when I got back she was so big that she would just lie on stuff. She was this way for 3 days that I was back then this morning shes suddenly half the size she was. DID SHE LAY EGGS SOME WHERE.

I did notice when I put her in the tank some of the males showing off and she seem to be gaurding and area today but it was week cause some time she would just swim away. I dont see any eggs. Im thinking if she did lay any the got eaten.

first of all africans breed by mouth .. that means that if there any fry tthey ll be in her mouth so if u wanna know she have fry or no check the mouth looking if normale then nth if large as if she hold sth in her mouth then she have fry ...

all africans are mouth brooders, so the enlarged belly had nothing to do with it
