we smoked some duck. I rinsed a piece off and threw it in my tank and one of my cichlids picked it up.

it was then that I wondered.... "hmm... was that a bad idea?"

(no i dont feed my fish poultry or beef on a regular basis) in fact i have never done it before, dont plan on doing it more than once a year.

but will it kill him or anything?

there was no obvious fat on it. :P i rinsed it good and made sure it was just meat.

i dont think it will bother him. i use to feed my arow turkey on thanksgiving and ham on christmas.

Eh...all is good. Was it your Oscar that ate the duck?

Yep. Your fish will be fine.

cool. thanks guys. It was my Centrarchus. He's a mighty little beast, always the first to get what hits the water.

yea I used to give thanksgiving turkey to my oscars when I was a teenager and they loved it, no one died until way later when my mother assasinated my fish.
