Today its raining pretty hard where I live and there have been no fire or ambulance calls to take up my time. So I got bored and took a bunch of feeder guppies I got for free and have been raising in a tank for about a month now and put about a dozen in with some of my various cichlids. They were all gone in less then a minute! I found it to be quite entertaining. (First time I ever fed feeder fish to another fish. Not counting shrimp.

On a side note I love my Electric Blue Maingano! Once he got a ghost shrimp that was bigger then he was and the shrimps head was sticking out of his mouth for quite a while. Very entertaining.

I feed my catfish goldfish all the time I find it very fun to watch since he is so slow

I tried feeders with my mbuna a while back and I landed up with a Mbuna / Guppy mix tank! They had only eaten pellets since I got them and had no clue what to do with feeders!

Forget feeding feeders to your mbunas. If you ask me, it is wrong especially disease transmission risk. I wouldn't even touch goldfish with a ten foot pole if it is intended as feeder. Too high thiaminase content that prevents vitamin absorption resulting in undernourished fish.

Glad I saw this thread.

I am picking up a 1255 gallon aquarium this weekend that the people used to breed feeder guppies, there are about 50 small ones in the tank. I was just going to put the guppies in with my cichlids to get rid of them, now after reading some of the responses I won't.
