does anyone know if these fish are strictly brackish? a store near me has had a pair for months now in a tank that is completely fresh.

They're also called the Butterfly Goby. Vespicula depressifrons
gets the 'waspfish' title due to the venom glands in their dorsal spines. They grow to 4" in the wild but, usually don't pass 2.5" in captivity. They are brackish water fish and prone to disease when maintained in fresh water.
