i have waste circulating in my tank, juwel vision 57g (260 L), i have plenty of water movement, 2 powerheads with filter attachment and a rena xp4.

any ideas why i have waste floating about could it just be the way my filters are blowing their water out ?

the rena xp4 has an actual flow rate of 820lph as i have measured it

1 aquaclear 3000 = 1100 lph
1 aquaclear 402 = 1220 lph

i also have a 36" air curtain along the back

any suggestions

the tank looks pristine.

the thing about water movement and deitrus in the tank is that it's impossible to get it perfect if you have decor.

Notice how the prefilter and intake tube for the filter on the left are behind the rock wall. That is blocking deitrus from fully being sucked in.

Your tank looks great and very clean, that's about as good as you can get it aside from taking out all the decor and adding 5 more powerheads :D

Can you try to illustrate where you intake and output nozzles are and in what direction they are blowing.

In certain circumstances if you have output in both corners you can create a whirl effect that will actually keep the waste suspended in the middle of the tank and not driving it towards the intakes which is where you would want it to go.

Talk about anal. Your tank looks awesome man! Don't worry about the unsettled poo; it will find its way to a filter soon enough.

Nice job on your tank!

That is a beautiful tank! I know this isn't the answer you want, but the thing looks pristine to me... don't worry about a little bit of waste - that is a great looking tank!

It'll never be perfect... but if it bothers you check the inflow/outflow and try to see if there is a still spot in the tank or if the waste isn't going into an intake because of current.

Great tank though....

It happens because its blowing around and hasnt found its way to the filter intake yet. What you can do is use a net to remove things like this.

x 2. Good job!

thanks for the compliments guys, im glad others appreciate my tank too, my water is clear enough and it looks good , its like someone said the pooh is suspended and swirling in circles in the tank, i have moved my left power head to the top of the water and put an air curtain along the back, this has helped a bit, it has reduced the amount of pooh floating in the water, i know the filters will get it eventually but i would like to have it with very little pooh floating if possible :D

here is a couple of pics of the intake and outputs of my filters, the green is output and the red is intake, the red dot in the lower left if the external filters intake which is just above the gravel behind the rocks.
