Im having some food waste issues in my 240g. Im trying to slowly cut out the live feeders for my 1 remaining armatus. A lot of the food eventually sinks as I have to leave it in longer so he will take it. Its a pain in the butt trying to get him off live but I'm trying without starving him too much. What I would like to do is maybe add some inverts or some other fish that wouldnt be to picky about getting some extra food. Currently I have a small group of cory's and clown loaches- they eat the algae wafers and thats pretty much it. There is also a group of silver dollars that eat floating food and maybe a wafer or two as they sink- they wont pick off the bottom. I also have a tire track eel that eats floating pellets as well, but he cant/wont eat the food that sinks and mushes up.
I'm doing 2-3 25-50% water changes a week and the tank is filtered very well. I'd just like to see something in the tank that could be fed off of the wasted food (making it not a waste I guess) and maybe save me 1 or 2 water changes per week.
