Herons may seem elegant beautifull birds but they are major predators in their ecosistems and can be very dangerous to handleWhen you aproach them they target the eyes

We were camping this summer. The camper next to use had a 2 month old baby lab on the steps of their camper. We were all talking around a camp fire then all we heard were yelps. Look up only to find a eagle had swooped down and picked up the puppy. All we could hear were yelps for about 10 seconds then it just stopped.

Poor puppy =[, but its nature. The eagle was just looking for food.
