Ok here's the deal, my little Pbass is stressing out. First I had a black hair algae problem in my tank. The fish seemed fine. The Bass was swimming around alot. I took out 50% of the wood, plants etc, stirred up the water real good pulling plants out etc. I did a 40% water change after to help settle things out. FYI did a massive gravel clean up to remove excess nutrients, old plant matter. any left over food etc.
Then the next day I added Excel, recommended dose & a UV sterilizer
Then my Nitrates spiked to .2 I did a water change 30% and lowered it to .1 The bass is still stressing and I'm doing another 305 change now.
So I figure when I started killing Diatoms with Excel and the UV the Nitrogen level went up.... Algae feeds on Nitrogen. So maybe this is just going to be alittle rough on them until it balances out and the algae diatoms are all killed. But is there something I'm missing? My water is slightly greyish cloudy. My Ammonia is 0, and my Nitrates are now .1 ... soon to be lower. But why is the PBass stressing? Is it a water balance thing or is it just because I keep changing stuff in the tank? Or am I missing something?

FYI I'm still using Excel.. as recommended.
