Water Bed Heater

Just wondering if I can use one of these to heat an outdoor pond.
 
I doubt it would be worth messing with. WB heaters are VERY VERY low output...generally raising the bed temperiture 2 or 3 degrees a day...
 
My SIL's familly has one of those systems and says it works....Personally I'd concider putting a bunch of floating black rubber balls in the pond as a solar heater.

Don't use WBH under the pond, I wish I could find my pix of one I had get hot spots and melted (looked like a fire almost).


I made my own solar systems, but those aren't badly priced.

I never took a photo, but I had a WB heater burn a coil too...

Also they are not designed to withstand weather, and actually should not get wet... mine said, "For indoor use only" on the package & until now I wondered why :ROFL:
