Since rays are sensitive to heat differences, I wanted to know how you guys do large water changes without varying the temperature too much to affect them.

Do you just check the tap temperature or do you have other methods?

I use the faucet as well. I check the thermometer to make sure the temp is dropping too much. I keep my tanks at 82 degrees if it drops below 79-80 I either turn the water off until the water heater can replace itself or turn the heat up a little more.

I don't have the expenses to make a drip system, so until later, that's out of the question.

I do have the hose that I can use for changes, I was just curious if there was another way to heat the water (heater pump or something).

k, that's basically what I was guessing I'd have to do (thermometer).

I have yet to get any fish into my tank, waiting on it to finish cycling.

It's really pretty cheap to do. You could probably do it for less than $150. You'll save on water conditioners.

as long as it is not too drastic it will be fine. It actually has been discussed that the water temperature change is simulating the rainy season and could stimulate breeding.

A drop from 82 to 76ish should be fine i would not want tovary much more than this.
