I have a 20G tank with about 12 fry in it at about 1". I lost my last batch due to bloat at about this same size. Now my question is if I double my amount of w/c's to twice a week or maybe 3 times a week, would that be ok? or to much? I usually do about 50%. Maybe ill do 2 or 3 30% w/c?

I'm sure it would be helpful, but sometimes bloat is caused by diet, isn't it? What species and what are you feeding?

Hi!

I am pretty careful with my small grow out tank. I don't have any research in regards to the topic, but common sense tells me that they're fragile, so tread lightly :)

I also consider that since they are pretty tiny, there's not a ton of waste being generated, so nitrate levels should be climbing slowly. I do very small water changes once a week. I carefully vac up the little bits off the bottom and call it done. Probably 10% or so.

What are you feeding the fry? Vegatation type foods shouldn't be causing bloat. Not sure if anyone has found all the answers yet, but brine shrimp seems to be a leading cause of bloat in Cichlids.

Good luck!

Its Festae fry. Im feeding 1mm nls cichlid pellets. What else should I be feeding them? When my last batch dies they were eating crushed up hikari bio gold.
