What do you all do for water changes throughout the week on your bichir tanks (or at least the tank that has most of your bichirs?

I find myself doing 5-10g per day, and once a week i'll change out 20-30g in one day.

My tank has a nice smell to it that I can only compare to a public aquarium (the Baltimore Aquarium is the only one i've been to)... Does anyone else notice this?

why kind of filtration do you have on that tank? i just do about 30% weekly

I have an Aqueon 55 and a Cascade 200 ATM...

I don't do the WCs because I have to because the levels are off... I barely check the levels. I just try to keep the tank as clean as possible with what I have.

Funny you ask because I'm in the middle of my weekly water change right now (watching the tank fill the last little bit) and I took a bunch of pics to show how much water I take out weekly, and some other cool shots.

I'll make a photo thread later.

To answer your question, I would like to change a bit of water every day like you do for spot cleaning, but I don't have much time during the week, so instead I just do a massive weekly water change. My average is 60 to 70% weekly.

Filters get changed every other week.

Cool... Good to know.

I only do this much water changes on my 55. The other tanks get 1/4-1/3 WCs weekly.

i'm just surprised you do small wc daily. you could just as easily get the same from doing larger wc every 3 days
