I just filled up my tank with water Sunday and poured sand in yesterday. The water is very cloudy(because I didn't rinse the sand first and dumped it in with water in there).

My question is how many water changes will I need to do during this month or so cycle period. I want to prepare and get some salt ordered.

Also what can I do to help this cloudiness from the new sand?

Thanks,
Brandon

What kind of substrate are you using? If its just Caribsea live sand then you're fine. Once your ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate are reading 0 you want to do around a 50% water change wait about a week then test it again if its still reading 0 then wait a couple more days test again and if it still is reading 0 can can start stocking.

What are you using to cycle your tank? Do you have any live rock in the tank? What size if your tank?
